Penistone Station serves the South Yorkshire community of the same name. Penistone is a small market town in the metropolitan area that surrounds Barnsley. The railway station provides fairly regular services as part of the Penistone Railway Line. It is located about eight miles south of Barnsley in the Pennine foothills.
