Map
The River Amber meets the River Derwent close to the small Derbyshire village station of Ambergate. Six miles or so south of Matlock this charming village is a stunning example of an untouched rural Midlands community. Because of the station’s position on the railway between London and Manchester it has often been used as a significant point for trains to change locomotives on the long journey nort. This railway history can still be seen in the sleepy village.
